Rotary is a worldwide organisation. Its aim is for people to come together and “do good in the world.”

The guiding principles are:

Is it the truth?

Is it fair to all concerned?

Will it build good will and better friendships?

Will it be beneficial to all concerned?

Rotarians support many causes, but its long-term project has been to eradicate Polio from the world. Rotary has a large Charity and because of the voluntary nature of Rotarians, very little of the money donated is used for administration. Approximately 92% of any donation gets to the needy for every dollar donated. Rotarians also have a good time while they “do good in the world.”

Rotarians also get the opportunity to hone their skills in public speaking, leadership and organisation. Many Rotarians also make lifelong friends with fellow Rotarians and some also get the opportunity to travel and enjoy the friendship of Rotarians throughout the world.
